Haarlemse Lente is een evenement dat georganiseerd wordt door alle Haarlemse tentoonstellingsruimten voor hedendaagse kunst. Musea, kunstenaarsinitiatieven en galeries presenteren van 8-10 maart 2013 een lang weekend vol kunst met gezamenlijke openingen, performances, dans en muziek.

Horses on ice - 23 maart
Voor je het weet spat het IJslandse vuur weer van de Haarlemse kunstijsbaan. Waar normaal de schaatstoppers hun rondjes draaien wordt op zaterdag 23 maart 2013 plaats gemaakt voor de nationale en internationale top uit de IJslandersport tijdens de vijfde editie van Horses On Ice, hét evenement voor liefhebbers van ijs, snelheid, (IJslandse) paarden, warmte, gezelligheid en shows.

Bloemencorso van de Bollenstreek - 20 april 2013
Het beroemdste corso is het Bloemencorso van de Bollenstreek. Zaterdag 20 april 2013 rijdt hiervan alweer de 66ste editie zijn 40 km lange route van Noordwijk naar Haarlem. Behalve dat het Bloemencorso van de Bollenstreek het enige evenement van dit kaliber is dat zich afspeelt in het voorjaar, is het eveneens het enige corso dat wordt opgebouwd met bolbloemen zoals hyacinten, tulpen en narcissen. Niet voor niets wordt het Bloemencorso van de Bollenstreek ook wel het gezicht van de lente genoemd, want geen corso kan zich meten met de unieke lentekleuren en geuren die dit omgeeft.

Frans Hals Festival - 9 mei - 14 mei
In de feestweek zijn er verschillende feestelijke activiteiten in de stad rond Frans Hals en de tijd waarin hij leefde: de Gouden Eeuw. De feestweek start op donderdag 10 mei, Hemelvaartsdag, met de intocht –per zeilschip- van het eerste vat Frans Halsbier.

Wandel4daagse Haarlem - 9 mei - 12 mei
De wandel4daagse van Haarlem is een jaarlijks terugkerend evenement in de tweede week van de maand mei. Haarlem leent zich om in een prachtig klaverblad rondom de stad te wandelen. Vier dagen in een andere omgeving. Prachtige vergezichten, duin, bos en idyllische doorkijkjes bij historische landgoederen
Na het eerste succes in 2012 met dagelijks ruim 1.100 wandelaars aan de start wordt bij de tweede editie in 2013 ingezet op een verdubbeling van het aantal deelnemers. Enerzijds door de timing in het Hemelvaartsweekend en anderzijds door een wijziging in het concept. Naast de sportieve prestatie een moment van sfeer en gezelligheid langs de route en op de finishlocatie.
De afstanden van de Wandel4Daagse Haarlem zijn 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40 en 50 kilometer per dag.
De wandelaars vertrekken alle dagen vanuit eenzelfde startlocatie maar volgen elke dag een andere route. De mogelijkheid bestaat om tussentijds te wisselen van afstand. Informeer tijdig bij de start naar de mogelijkheden. Bij het tweede evenement (9 - 12 mei 2013) worden dezelfde afstanden gelopen als in de voorgaande editie. Door diverse aanpassingen in de routes ligt in de komende editie het geografische accent op de directe omgeving van de stad Haarlem.
Alle afstanden van de Wandel4Daagse Haarlem zijn herkenbaar gemarkeerd. Door de keuze uit zeven afstanden is het evenement bijzonder laagdrempelig en voor bijna iedereen toegankelijk. Van recreatieve tot prestatieve wandelaars waarbij ook nordic walkers dezelfde route volgen. Voor bedrijven bestaat een speciaal teamarrangement waarbij werknemers via het estafettemodel kunnen instappen

Luilakmarkt - 17 mei
De beroemde Luilakmarkt is een potjes- en plantenmarkt die op vrijdagmiddag 17 mei begint om 16:00 uur en de hele nacht doorloopt tot de volgende ochtend (18 mei) ca 11:00 uur (de Luilakochtend). Naast bloemen, planten en tuinaccessoires wordt ook de inwendige mens goed bediend.
Luilak
Luilak is een niet-christelijk feest dat meestal wordt gevierd op de zaterdag voor Pinksteren. Het is een feest waarbij langslapers en te laat komers worden bespot. Luilak wordt vooral door jongeren gevierd. Ze staan zeer vroeg op en proberen iedereen wakker te maken door aan te bellen en lawaai te maken.
Daardoor kan er zeer vroeg in de morgen opeens oorverdovende herrie op straat klinken. Groepen schreeuwende jongeren scheuren op fiets en brommer door de wijk, een lang touw achter hun voertuig aan slepend met potten, pannen, blikken en andere dingen die lawaai maken.

Slacker is a non-Christian festival that is usually celebrated on the Saturday before Pentecost. It is a festival where late sleepers and late arrivals are mocked. Slacker is celebrated especially by young people. They are very early and try to make everyone awake by ringing the doorbell and make noise.
This may be very early in the morning suddenly deafening sound on the streets. Groups of young people screaming cracks on bicycle and moped through the neighborhood, a long rope behind their vehicle dragging pots, pans, cans and other things that make noise.
